Dead Sea Scenery
The Dead Sea is a salt lake bounded on the west by Israel and on the east by Jordan. It is the lowest water surface on earth at approximately 1312 ft below sea level.
The Dead Sea lake has no outlet and is fed primarily by the Jordan River and a few streams. Because fresh water evaporates quickly due to the hot desert climate it leaves behind a sea which is seven times as salty as the ocean.
