Bears of Wolverine Creek
Wolverine Creek is located just a short 25 minute float plane flight across Cook Inlet from Kenai and Soldotna where there is excellent sockeye salmon fishing and the most consistent bear viewing in Alaska for both black and brown bears. After the float plane lands, you are transferred to a small boat for salmon fishing and bear viewing in the same location. The bears wander along the shore, standing on boulders to get a better view of the fish before climbing in to catch & feed. These bears are sometimes as close as a foot or so away and may vie for the same fish you are catching, so it pays to keep an eye on both bears and fish!!! Obviously, when a bear is fishing the human stops!
